Visualization Techniques

Here are some visualization techniques to use when you want to change or control your dream, especially in the event of a nightmare or uneasy situation.

Waving Hand Technique:
By waving our hand over an area or object to hide it from view, we can imagine what it will look like when it comes back into view. This helps when you want a door to appear or someone to change or go away.

Turn Around Technique:
Look at something you want to change. Then slowly turn around as you imagine it changing. When you come back around to view it, it will change.

Behind the Door Technique:
If you want to summon a person, use a door. Imagine there's a knock or a doorbell ringing and go to the door in your dream and open it as you imagine the person you want to be summoned. If it's not them, close the door and repeat. Say their name aloud and picture what they look like.

Escape Door Technique:
The best way to escape a dream is through a door. Imagine a door with a great white light shining behind it through the cracks. You can hear laughing and people having a party. You open the door to find everyone is there having a big party with drinks, food and party hats. There's music playing and a lot of bright light and everyone is having a good time. Enter it and close the door behind you and you will no longer be in your nightmare or bad situation you are in.

Sunrise Technique:
Often times nightmares occur in a nighttime setting. Imagine the sun rising. By having the sun rise, it will calm your nerves and wash away your fears. It takes a lot of imagination to have the sun rise, but you can use the waving hand technique to do it. Wave your hand over the horizon as you imagine the sun about to rise, when you remove your hand, revealing the horizon behind it, the sun will begin to rise. Have confidence that it will work and take your time. Once it starts to rise, imagine it getting brighter and brighter, making it day.

Face your Enemy Technique:
If you are being chased, turn around. Enemies will play off of your fears. Even if you fight back, as long as you fear them they will keep coming. You must gain confidence in yourself and in your powers and face them. Star them down as though you are not afraid and stop fighting them. They can't hurt you and you know that. Imagine them just fading away or walking away. Then leave the area you are in by going outside or walking away and then take it from there.

Fly Away Technique:
Sometimes it's best to just fly away. Start hovering away, but don't fear your enemies or you won't go far. Don't try to escape, but just leave the situation calmly through the air. You can continue flying for fun, or find a nice place like on a rooftop and then you can try your escape door or sunrise technique.
